I agree - during the ep, my husband kept asking “is he a good guy or a bad guy”, and I was saying “hey, I’m seeing the same thing you are, we have to wait and see” and then the end! WOW, that totally blew our minds - can’t wait to hear Derek & Steve discuss!

Same for me. I’d never heard of Human Target. And I never would have — or watched it — if it hadn’t been for SkyNext. I’m still in withdrawal from the Terminator podcast. Smart move to piggyback on the old podcast feed.

The only problem with Human Target is that there’s 1/10 the issues to chew over compared to TSCC. Alternate timelines? Robot Lovin’? Sigh. Maybe D & S should review the TSCC DVDs and do some nostalgia podcasts. I swear, I got as much or more entertainment out of the podcasts as I did from the show itself. Dead serious.

I’m still pi**ed at the TSCC producers for being so full of themselves and driving the series into a ditch. “Terminator of the Week,” my a**…

First thoughts: it reminds me of Vengeance Unlimited with Michael Madsen as Mr. Chapel. I loved this show also, and if Human Target continues in this vein then I’m hooked.

I like the concept of the show: Rick Springfield had a show like this in the 90s where he’d change his face and go undercover.

I like the character portrayed by Jackie Earle Haley. Mark Valley was good, could’ve been better and I think he will get better. I recently saw Jericho (movie with Valley) so I look forward to him in this show.

Chi McBride is also a great actor.

The name Chance reminds me of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Hard Target when he said the line explaining why he was named Chance, “My momma took one”.

So far this show has the feel I miss on television. I hope they continue the under the radar, vigilante line…

Great interview with Ash (although I wish someone had edited out a few hundred of his “Y’knows”). I think that and your earlier one with B.A.G. were two of the best Skynexts, and made up for the somehat inconsistent podcasts towards the end. No criticism of either of you… you have lives; the show was ending, people’s interests change, and so on. As I said, all-in-all an enjoyable run.

As you mentioned in the show, I’m keeping your feed live in my iTunes, and hope to find the occasional Skynext appearing at times… commentary on the Season 2 DVD would be great. Best of luck to you both.

In our opinion the fan campaign to save the show has been wonderful and I think it’s truly inspiring to see so many people rallying behind a cause. That being said, we weren’t making fun of it. Hope everyone can see the humor in it and have a laugh instead of taking it personally, it certainly wasn’t meant that way at all.

You wonder where these people were when the show was on? We were here. Watching the show. Loving the show. Loving it enough to want to keep fighting for it. We’re not professionals; we’re ordinary people, ordinary fans that love something enough to fight for it.

We’ve been here since March - which you will note is prior to the finale - working to get on our feet, to build fan momentum and do something for the show you obviously like enough to podcast about. BTW, i know its a long time off but have you given any thaught to doing commentaries for the next two movies or the previous 3? that would be cool.

1) The series had a lot of promise
2) It wasn’t “Lost”

But they kept on writing as if the show were somehow going to turn into Lost. I think this was hubris, and I think it’s what killed TSCC.

So much of the fun of TSCC was speculation/discussion about the episodes, and you guys are talented podcasters. “Robot Lovin’ Act” “Ladies…” etc. I used to listen while working out, and it was great.

Now, here’s where we’ll diverge… Although I would obviously prefer TSCC to go on, I actually think it deserved to die. And that’s because of JF. I thought it was too self-indulgent- in the writing/story arcs. Basically, I think Josh gambled on getting a hardcore, Lost-like following. But it was an all-or-nothing bet- which he lost. Better to lower the stakes and have a third season.

The horrible story arc where Sarah was losing it was the epitome of this. I almost stopped watching. How are you going to get to syndication with opaque clunkers like those mixed in?

The way JF sniffed at “Terminator of the Week” syndrome was fine- if the goal is appealing to adoring sci-fi convention goers. But I would contend you need a more workman-like approach for the real-world. I’m not saying there needed to be an actual “Terminator of the Week” — I’m saying that it’s this attitude that ultimately killed TSCC.

The good news: I think TSCC will be a cautionary tale for the next team that tackles something like this.

Termination is an upcoming animated TV series about various points in the Terminator Saga. It was first announced in January 2008 at a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles convention. It will be released around August 2009 and will be tied with Terminator Salvation.

The show will feature a number of short animated features from different areas of the Terminator universe.

IF the original vision for T4 had been filmed, the SCC finale would have made total sense, and fit nicely into the Terminator story arch. Weaver, the submarines, the “Will you join us?” line, John Connor needs John Henry … ALL of that makes sense if the original T4 concept is filmed.

BUT that didn’t happen, and the SCC became a dead-end story, and they probably knew it would end up that way as soon as they found out about the T4 story changes.

If I had to lose a show that I was a regular watcher of, I can’t really complain that this is the one - but I am surprised that Dollhouse is still around. I thought that these shows worked good together even though they were on the horrible Friday night slot….

Again, it’s just a shame that we couldn’t get at least half a season to see them complete their vision….

It has such a loyal fan base man. Look at all of us. We campaigned our hearts out. Went on every poll possible and made sure that SCC won. And now this.

Season 3 would have been epic if it happened. And if Fox is capable enough to realize it, they should have. They’re the ones who ruined the show by moving it to Fridays. It’s not because the show’s not good. The show’s great okay

I hope that Steve and Derek can find another project to work together on because I like their banter. It will be a sad day when they finish their last Skynext podcast. It was one of the ones i most looked forward to each week.

On the plus side it leaves BAG free to work on the Green lantern and Fathom projects.

I would be surprised if Fox gained revenue from DVD sales, but as suggested above perhaps the Skynext guys can enlighten us.

TSCC was well written, acted and produced and it gets cancelled.

Sometimes you just need to shake your head and wonder. I too will not watch Fox any longer.

Another great show is added to the rest that this network as cut short. I’m sure Season Two DVD/Blu-Ray sales will make them realize their mistake.

I hope that Sci-Fi (or SyFy) will step up and save terminator for us. Since they have lost BSG, all they have left is Eureka.

I truly enjoyed listening to the podcast, the best out there, “Run, Derek Run”!

I think BAG might get himself in trouble for his career if he discussed the issue on a podcast with Steve and Derek. From the podcasts I could tell he really believed in the show, I’m sure he’s having a beer somewhere right now.

Regarding the budgets, I’m sure that’s 90% of the calculation. 10% of Fox’s decision is based on, “Maybe we’d be killing another Firefly” and the other 90% is a bunch of variables fed into an Excel spreadsheet. And with Dollhouse, Fox gets all the revenue streams.

I feel like FOX stranded me in an alternate future.

I think Fox’s true sin is waiting so long to cancel it, long enough that it maybe too late to send it to another network.

But even there, can you blame them? Why would they risk it succeeding with their competition?

If Salvation makes an insane amount of money, somebody somewhere is going to take a hard look at TSSC.

I believe if FOX had produced TSSC and Warner Bros owned Dollhouse the situation would be reversed.

The problem is that FOX only makes money on what the Nielsen’s record. All that other stuff doesn’t make money for FOX, whereas since they own Dollhouse, they get paid for the rest of it.

Even in Europe(europe ? well thats france, belgium, italy , spain hmm about 25 countries) it’s a big succes( i know that doesn’t count) but even so, how is such a BAD decision possible, i mean leaving Dollhouse and stupid shows and cancelling a perfect show instead.
It really does not make sense at all. FOX is a GREAT Studio, they have proven that many times, but such mistakes should not happen for many reasons. for starters : ill never ever buy any dvd or blu ray from a fox show. we all should boycott theit products!!

Well I liked house…but im now done watching it all live…..there are other ways to watch it without commercials.

What can we do now to see more of this show? I really don’t want season 2 to be the end. The thought of not watching a new episode then tuning into this podcast make me so sad. I do not understand why this show didn’t get similar rarings to genre shows like Fringe and Lost.

But on the other hand, Dollhouse is owned by Fox, whereas TSSC is produced by Warner Bros. When the Whedonites buy the DVD’s, Fox gets a cut. But when we buy the Sarah Connor DVD’s, Fox gets nothing.

Regarding the basement, I think BAG is referring to Cameron telling Derek that he broke under torture when she rescued him. He must have given up the location of Connor’s camp, leading to the scenes in Terminator 1.

Have to beg to differ on Cameron’s visit to the prison to rescue Sarah. You described the scene as her killing a whole lot of guards on her way in - but if you watch it again she did no such thing. She shot at them, and she shot light fittings to fall on them, but she didn’t actually kill any. They didn’t actually show us a “CASUALTIES: 0″ as in T2, but the point was clear.

That’s also, btw, the problem I have with anyone suggesting John sent Weaver back: she’s far too kill-happy to have been sent by John Connor, a man who really does have a real sense of the worth of human life.

Hoping they get a third season; wishing we had a decent TV network in Australia that would broadcast the show in an up to date fashion…

I can’t wait to see Fox announcing the third season of TSCC. I will definately listen to “What a Wonderful World” then !!

I think it’s obvious that John loves Cameron. I mean come on, before he left for the future he said “He’s got her chip. He’s got her.” and that’s the reason why he went in the first place, to find John Henry, get Cameron’s chip back to get Cameron back. I know you’re trying to avoid the whole robot loving thing but it’s pretty clear how John feels.

Definitely Allison because the dog didn’t bark at her and yes she was acting very much human. I think John realized it wasn’t Cameron because of the dogs and the way she was carrying herself and that’s one of the reasons why his happiness turned to gloom.

I don’t think Cameron’s chip is in JH’s head, he’s just walking around with at the moment. We need a Season 3 to find that all out. Thanks for the podcast!

@Antoine - Oddly I also agree. I know the opinions for Derek’s death scene are kinda split out there. I both think it was good & realistic AND it would have been cool to see a more dramatic one. I think the fact that it was so abrupt was probably because the writers knew it would piss us off that he was killed, and even more because it was so quick, and leave us dazed, then we would get to see him again in the finale.

It’s interesting to hear the input of people that see the clip I made that both agree and disagree with it. =) I appreciate the comments from both sides.

Also, I laughed hysterically at Dereks date of birth and date of death. It’s funny becuase an outsider wouldn’t get the joke!

Thomas hell yeah. I know I sound like a broken record but yeah I’m definitely gonna do everything I can think of from videos to letters to show my support for the show. I’m watching the season 1 DVDs right now in fact.

Derek and Steve, I’m gonna sure miss the skynext podcast in the meantime. I hope you will keep the episodes on itunes so we can keep listening. I tend to re-download podcasts I’ve already heard just to hear them again, including yours.

There HAS to be a 3rd season. After the last few episodes and how the storyline progressed, it would be cruel punishment otherwise.

Wish I could take part in the FOX.com-athon, but they irritatingly block it for us Canucks.

Thankfully, if the show ends this would be a good send off. But, I would prefer to see how the clever writers of the show get out of this one in a third season of the best show on television.

Working feverishly to reclaim it but I can’t work miracles, contrary to popular belief. With Steve out of town I may be looking at redoing it or doubling up with “Adam Raised a Cain”, though that episode deserves a 3 hour podcast to itself. I’ll keep you updated. I promise you that both episodes will be in podcast form before “Born To Run” airs. Thanks for being the best, most understanding listeners out there guys.

I am holding out hope that we will get Season 3. I thought Derek and Steve made a great point that with Terminator Salvation coming out and likely being a blockbuster Fox would be smart to capitalize on that.

By the way, anyone remember that weird Twilight Zone-esqe show VH1 did a years back? I only think of it because I remember an episode where a TV executive is haunted by the evil villain of a cult genre show he cruelly cancelled despite fan protest. It was done in kind of a Telltale Heart kind of way…

Yeah I listen to a few other podcasts but Skynext is the first one I check each week for new episodes.

As for that website Lee posted- take it with a trunk of salt, a lot of things it says don’t add up and has been debunked on numerous other boards. Whilst the show (IMHO, and as much as I hate to say it) is probably going to get cancelled, that article in particular should not be taken seriously. Until Fox releases its official word I am not going to give out my hope. I am hoping for the best, expecting the worst at this point.

And frak’in a man- let’s crash that Fox site none-the-less. Give me a date and time and I’m so of the there. If for nothing else than the sheer pleasure of knowing we did it.

I’m waiting for the podcast too, I’m in a new city, it’s something I look forward to.

I find the guys are more entertaining on the better episodes when they’re fired up about things, I think this’ll be a good one.

I didn’t even read it. I’d just like to politely ask Steve and Derek not to mention viewer complaints in the podcast. If I wanted to hear fighting and complaining I’d stay at work.

Sheesh dude. Before attempting to call people out for being “a really stupid prick,” you should probably work on your understanding of the english language. Determinater came off as being a bit demanding (ie. “…this week better be the week.” etc.) even if that was not his goal. Bo was, on the other hand, trying to respectfully point out the fact that the fine folks at Skynext do things other than this particular podcast and put out each new episode as soon as they can.

Before “fully processing” either post and with all the grace of a pro wrestler, you chose to broadcast to the entire Skynext community just how poor your reading comprehension skills are. Assuming that was your intention, I have to say, “Kudos!” to you on a job well done!

I’m sorry you think I’m a prick my friend but I think you missed my point all together. Calling me names is not necessary. Heck I didn’t even call the other guy names lol. I simply stated that he should be patient while waiting for something that is given to us for free, by people who are busy. I actually did read his post 2 or 3 times to make sure I understood it correctly. His choice of words seemed rude in my opinion, as mine did to you. I’m a huge fan of Skynext and I hope they’re able to keep going.
