    Hi guys,

Just wanted to give you my 2 cents on Chronicle 17. The kid was not listed in the phonebook. Most likely IT WAS HIS FATHER who he shares his name with.

    Keep up the great work!!

    Hey Derek and Steve,

What another fantastic episode on Monday we had, the ending left me stunned. I don’t blame Connor in the least for what he did, seeing his mom being pistol whipped would make anyone snap like that. Partially what blows me away is that you just know they had that scene filmed way back during Samson & Delilah, and the fact that they held out 5 episodes to show it to us is such a tease, and shows major restraint from a writing standpoint.

The lead-in to this scene gave me such chills, mostly because I was so pleased to hear Sarah’s monologues back. But the knowledge that John is a killer casts so much light on the events of the last episode, in contrast to the stark revelation that John will never be kid, because as his uncle put it, “people die for you so you can keep going” or something to that effect (horrible paraphrasing).

Finally, the fact that our show has been picked up for a full 22 episodes has released so much tension from my soul, I have to say that what I absolutely love about Sarah Connor Chronicles and what makes it such a unique and special show is twofold:

First of all, although the action is fun, it’s really just an interlude for the major focus on character psychology that prevails on the show. If you watch episodes like Alison From Palmdale for example, there is practically no action in the episode. The entire script is dialogue from beginning to end, and it’s a freakin’ Terminator show. I adore the show and the way they are faithful to the characters and delve so deeply into their minds and motivations, because it makes them come alive like television characters so rarely do.

Secondly, the show is not made up of it’s parts. Let me explain: So you might be watching the episode, and even if you don’t like a couple of scenes or you’re worried about the direction of the episode, in the end, they almost always wrap it up so nicely that it leaves you stunned as a viewer. What I mean by this is that every episode has clear intentions and parallels that run through the episodes in such intriguing ways that they compound your interest and immersion in the show when you stumble upon them. This is fascinating because you always know when you watch that it’s not ‘just another episode’ of ’same old same old’, there’s always a purpose to it that is revealed at the end. I have to say that no other show leaves me with a feeling of pure euphoria when the credits roll the way Terminator does and for that I will always cherish and fondly remember it long after it’s gone which will hopefully be a long day in the future, long after the machines have taken over. Keep up the great podcast guys!
